The Hopetoun beach today is simply stunning. After going for a walk on West Beach this morning, I simply could not resist the urge to dive in for a swim. It is the best way to lift a mood and get back to loving life! When there are things going wrong in our lives and we turn on the television to be faced with more distress and loss of life in the Victoria Bush fires - it is easy to feel down. Feeling down and depressed doesn't help anyone, least of all those we may be sympathising with. It is far more useful to focus on the areas of our lives that are good and feel gratitude for what we do have. When we are in this more positive frame of mind, we can think clearly how to take the next step, or how we can assist others less fortunate than ourselves.

Hopetoun is situated in Western Australia, on the southern shores between Albany (300km) and Esperance (200km). It is a 6 hour drive from Perth, or just over an hour's flight on National Jet from Perth to Ravensthorpe Airport. The Fitzgerald National Park is 10km from the town's centre and has magnificent beaches, wildflowers and rugged cliffs.
