Wings and Wheels in Hopetoun
Wings & Wheels Festival is here!
The inaugural Hopetoun/Ravensthorpe festival will kick off on the 27th & 28th February 2010 and organisers are gearing up for one the areas biggest events. There has been so much interest shown not only from the enthusiastic locals but from surrounding towns and districts as well.
Special guest for the event is Dr Olga Ward who runs medical clinics in remote areas. Olga will be flying her Piper Magenta pink aircraft to the show.
Special vehicles: Rhodes Ridley, & John Henderson Model T Ford Seeder and the oldest of the private planes that has a local owned is a 1946 Cessna who took out best in its class at the Avalon air Show in 2009.
SciTech Road show for the kids Sat & Sun, food and market stalls. Joy rides demonstrations from SES and Emergency Services groups and also the Ravensthorpe Enduro Club who will have a display track for the little tackers to show us how it is done.
You will be able to see; Tractors, cars, motorcycles, aircraft, and stationary engines in all classes: vintage, veteran, classic new and there is a mob from Esperance who are flexing their way over here with a group of Muscle Cars.
A Grand parade of vehicles will be held early Sunday morning and participants can line up on the groyne for a photo opportunity. So be prepared for some joyful noise as they pass by.
Community arts Project: Len Zuks will conduct a community arts project to produce an aircraft from recycled metal from mining and farming. It will be on show at the festival you can lean from the master himself. To Book Call Ainsley Foulds 9838 3078
