Hopetoun raised $2266 for Breast Cancer Foundation

On Thursday 23 October 2008 we hosted a community fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation. This year we asked for the ladies to don their tiaras and be princesses for the day!!! The function turned out to be fit for any royalty. The tables were set out by much help from community members and each host supplied beautiful goodies for our guests to munch. In total there were around 60 ladies this year that turned out for a really sociable morning. There were many door prizes, raffles on the day and we even auctioned off a “boob cake” baked by Birgit Bowie. The RNO ladies bought the cake and took it back to site and re-auctioned it raising an amazing $378.45!!!
We would like to extend a very special thank you to all the local businesses who donated prizes:- The Toun Beach Café, Hopetoun General-IGA, Lauma from the little book shop, Shore Thing, Sue Martin for Body Shop products, Jo-anne Langley from the Nail Clinic, Hayley Krüger from Tupperware, Jill Hutchison, Life Success Coach; Tricia Gaunt from Partylite, Tandi Buitendag, The Ravensthorpe Pharmacy, Mel from Rave Hair Studio and Esensual Beauty in Ravensthorpe. We also had gift vouchers sponsored by BHP Billiton Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations.
Rochelle Classen, wife of Shawn, and mother of two, shared with us a heartwarming testimonial about surviving breast cancer, bringing a personal touch to the day.
With the help of all who contributed to this worthy cause, a VERY BIG THANK YOU for raising $2,266.90!!!!
